CURRO’s booth for NADA NY presents works by Alejandro Almanza Pereda (Mexico City, 1977),Claudia Peña Salinas (Montemorelos, Mexico 1975) and Juan Capistrán (Guadalajara, Mexico 1976). All three artists come from seemingly very similar backgrounds, but their unique practice proposes very different perspectives about the Mexican/American experience. While they are all from the same age group, born in Mexico and at some point, raised in the US, their nuanced migratory experience inclined them to very different theoretical and formal interests.
