NADA House 2021

LLANO´s presentation of works by Mexican artists Maria Sosa and Noe Martinez brings together part of their research that focuses on the questioning of Western historical narratives, postulating the knowledge of the originary peoples (indigenous cultures) of Mexico as a counterpoint to break the notion of linear time.

Both artists research the possibility of healing colonial memory from their personal contexts as a means of making visible the continuity of colonial relations. In the mixed media artworks the concept of healing appears as a regenerative possibility, knowing that awakening the presences of native cultures is a way of reclaiming the existence of ways of being and being in the world that Western culture has sought to eradicate.
