mimo is pleased to present “Towards Mutualism”, a solo booth by Amber Toplisek.

Drawn to the enigmatic feelings that evoke space between bodies and the visceral weight of a photographic archive; Toplisek explores points of tension between forms and gestures, proposing existence in multiple places at once.

Toplisek collects, makes, and appropriates material images to subsequently abstract them to the edge of recognition. The results of this transformation are visceral glass compositions that force the viewer to be conscious of their own senses, unfolding imaginary narratives.
