Description
Agustín González Goytía presents a group of paintings depicting landscapes from Tucumán (a northern province of Argentina). Some of them are exhibited unpacked and unframed. Canvases sewn together, glued, or mounted overlappingly assume a volumetric and ethereal dimension, holding images that inhabit the boundary between figuration and abstraction. As living bodies, these works point out mechanisms by which visuality assumes political components. This methodology takes shape under the gaze of a regional artist who produces with global codification procedures.
