This quiet yet unsettling composition reflects the artist’s recurring themes of mystery and duality, drawing from folklore, mythology, and subconscious imagery to blur the boundary between the familiar and the fantastical. A black cat rests peacefully on a windowsill, framed by heavy pink curtains, while two cat-like crescent moons hang in the night sky, subtly disrupting the viewer’s sense of reality. The work captures an atmosphere of deceptive tranquility, where the presence of multiple moons hints at an underlying distortion of time and space.

Minyoung Kim is a Korean artist born in 1989, currently based in UK. She holds an MFA in Painting with Distinction from the Slade School of Fine Art.
