NADA New York 2022

La Mama Galleria presents a series of six handwoven wall pieces by Liz Collins produced at Praxis Digital Weaving Residency (Cleveland, Ohio) in January 2022. Restrained by familiar circular forms, these pieces evoke voids of thought, conduits of liquid, and times of day.

Using only basic white, gray, and black cotton, these are the first handwoven works Collins has produced on a loom in decades. More like drawings, or simple black and white prints, they offer a fresh view on Collins’ practice, which most often engages with vivid color and rich material palettes.
