Inspired by the geography that links and defines Govenor’s Island and Puerto Rico, “Isla a Isla” (island to island) brings together a group of six innovative contemporary artists from Puerto Rico working with sound. While these artists approach sound from a variety of disciplinary angles, the work selected for “Isla a Isla” addresses concepts of being an island and a U.S. colony, a territory with a very complex political status. For the duration of NADA House, the works will play simultaneously on Govenor’s Island and at the gallery, Embajada, in San Juan Puerto Rico.
