ChunMing Hou, Oops, 1986
acrylic, ink and pencil on floral cloth
39.3 × 37.4 inches
since the 1980s, Hou started to paint on printed fabric, a common and easily found fabric across Taiwan. Yet, the bed-sheets-like patterns also symbolize desires, also being ironic to the elitism that traditional bird-flower painting represented.
