Effie Wanyi Li’s artistic practice emerges from inquiries into anxiety and physio-psychological systems, extending to the internal mechanisms of the human body. For Li, the body is not merely a physical entity but a fluctuating field of perception: a shifting space where emotion, thought, and sensation interact and generate new modes of awareness. In following the ripples of tension, friction and fragmentation, the realization of these invisible systems on the canvas’ surface serves as observation and mitigation both, inviting the viewer into a shared reflection on existence and resilience.
