Artist-run gallery and bookshop Miriam presents an installation by Umico Niwa (b. 1991, Japan), whose practice expansively opens to other earthly forms of sentience from plant and animal to microbial, fungal, and celestial. Niwa’s installation for NADA New York 2023 metamorphoses the art fair booth into a world in miniature, a landscape for encounter and play that prioritizes the perception of other forms of intelligence.
