Isabelle Frances McGuire’s sculptures hang from the lighting truss taking their forms from video game interpretations of real-life American arsenal, seized and suspended in their power cords. Michelle Grabner’s tediously detailed tondos of domestic patterns and historic motifs offer an expansive field for viewers. Neal Vandenbergh’s multiple exposure paintings occupy something of a psychological space between the other works, morphing anatomy to create images phantasmagoric and transfixing.
What results is an exhibition that combs the cultural floor of our country with awe and irreverence.
