For NADA Miami 2021, we are pleased to present a two-person booth of new works by artists Sergio Miguel and Sarah Zapata.
Sergio Miguel is a Mexican-born artist based in New York. Informed by colonial and modern Mexican art and the German New Objectivity, his oil paintings explore ideas of personhood, symbolism, and sexuality.
Sarah Zapata began working in textiles out of a desire to form a tangible relationship with her Peruvian heritage. As a lesbian raised in north Texas and steeped, early on, in Christian evangelicalism, Zapata explores themes of guilt, ritual, labor, and bondage.
