Carbon 12

Olaf Breauning, “Alone in the forest,” 2021

Through their exploration of vibrant color and strong forms, Olaf Breuning and Amir Khojasteh employ a distinct visual vocabulary to emphasize environmental and sociopolitical concerns within our contemporary society.

Breuning relies on universally understood symbols to encourage a deeper reflection of rapid technological advancement, and its position in the historical timeline of earth and mankind, while Khojasteh obscures subjects through the use of expressive abstracted form to bring focus to political power portrayed throughout history.
