Baby Blue presents a series of paintings by Ricardo Partida influenced by "Une Saison en Enfer" by Arthur Rimbaud. The paintings’ centralized figures reference Partida’s interest in the “Fag Fatale,” his idea of an effeminate man bringing the world to its knees. Partida transposes lines and proportions canonically associated with Venus, onto desirable male figures to create exalted alter egos, performative avatars that obscure himself and the subject.
