I painted this work outside on a plateau after driving down the bumpy, rutted Rainbow’s End road in Cerrillos, New Mexico. Following rough pathways often brings us to moments of wonder. The concept that the road less taken often gives us a pearl reminds us to seek out the pearl as often as possible: to come upon the moment that helps us touch infinity. This meditative painting depicts the undercurrent that brings us to that transformative space. The wave at the bottom propels us forward.
