PLAYBOOK is a conversation series featuring Latin American artists, curators, and cultural workers as they share their lived experiences under dictatorships. This New Latin Wave initiative delves into personal narratives, historical contexts, the enduring impact of authoritarian regimes, and the role of arts and culture as a form of resistance.
The term “playbook" refers both to the tactical methods used by dictators to seize and maintain power, and to the strategies of resistance often led by artists at the forefront. Organized as a series of moderated discussions with a wide range of voices and perspectives, this conversation is moderated by Verónica Bayetti Flores (Managing Partner at Center for Advancing Innovative Policy) and will feature Carlos Manuel Alvarez (Writer) Sokio (Composer), and Martín Touzón (Artist), who has works on view at Kates-Ferri Projects
