Asya Geisberg Gallery pairs a selection of ceramic and pastel works on wood panel by Carolyn Case, with leather wall sculptures by Trish Tillman. Tillman works at the intersection of furniture, design, and fashion, and her compact sculptures conflate ’80s- child-like color and references such as emoji and candy with stridently sexual and rebellious signifiers such as studs, zippers, and painted nails. Case’s 2D/3D hybrids start with richly hued and densely layered pastels, interweaving color and expressive elements into the ceramic borders.
