For this edition of NADA ‘Sculpture Projects’ PROXYCO is pleased to present a large sculpture by artist Juliana Cerqueira Leite, who has recently been nominated to the prestigious PIPA award in Brazil. The Corpos Moles [Soft Bodies] series, leads us to the inner space of the human body in decomposition. This sculpture is composed of interlocking rings of paper, hung on the wall, forming a cellular totem. Moistened with plaster, this paper structure is deformed, compressed by gravity as it hardens, giving rise to a form which is simultaneously a process.
