On the rooftop terrace of NADA New York, CARVALHO PARK presents two new sculptures by New York-based artist Rachel Mica Weiss. Twisted concrete slabs evoke recumbent human figures, scaled to Weiss’s body. The draped concrete Folds emerge from the artist’s fascination with historical representations of women by male artists. Weiss invites her viewers into an allegorical space, distilling a psychologically loaded concept into elemental forms: steel prism, concrete slab, and jagged stones.
