Brooklyn-based artist Abodolreza Aminlari utilizes an array of material techniques in his approach to geometric abstraction. Angular motifs populate his works, imbued with references to textiles and traditional patterns re-envisioned through the abstract lens of memory, forming a distinct visual language that is at once specific and open-ended. Combining vintage gold thread and handmade paper, Aminlari’s work explores ideas surrounding the transnational diffusion of domestic and factory labor, considering cultural production from the vantage point of lived experience.
