Collages with the material heft of sculptures and sculptures with the two-dimensional articulation of flat drawings characterize Florian Morlat’s extensive practice. Morlat works in a constructivist-Pop style owing something to Arp and Miro, Franz West, using humble materials such as cardboard and celluclay combined with abstracted figurative elements that read as flattened cultural symbols.
