Sapar Contemporary is pleased to present a booth of Ukrainian artists ZINAIDA and Iryna Maksymova.
We are focusing on a project by ZINAIDA titled “Without Women” that was highlighted in her solo pavilion and was presented as a Ukrainian Official Collateral Event at the 2022 Venice Biennale. We are also premiering the series SHE which ZINAIDA finished after her return to Kyiv in June 2022 under bombing and constant electricity shut downs. The woman in SHE wears a costume combining Ukrainian, Greek, Berber, Arabic, Bulgarian, and Jewish cultures, symbolizing an eternal and devine femininity.
