Chicago-based artist and musician Melina Ausikaitis has exhibited and performed all over the country and traveled the world playing in her band Joan of Arc. She is as much an inventor/historian as an artist. Ausikaitis’s performances and artwork offer an empathetic gesture, allowing the audience to feel—through voice and guitar— her process of self-discovery on behalf of our own half-buried formative memories.
NADA House is NADA’s second off-site exhibition on Governors Island, featuring over 45 artists from NADA Member galleries and non-profits across 34 rooms in three historic, turn-of-the-century Colonial Revival houses. The collaborative, public exhibition will be on view every weekend, Friday through Sunday, 11am–5pm from May 2, 2019 to August 4, 2019.
