Artist Liz McCarthy and art historian Chris Reeves will discuss McCarthy’s exhibition Comprised Of, currently on view at 062. This conversation will consider how material and form intersect with human desire and performativity.

Liz McCarthy is a Chicago-based artist combining ceramics with other mediums to explore the thematics of clay material and how it mediates human collectivity. She received her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Studio Art and her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Asheville in Photography.

Chris Reeves is a Chicago based research creator, artist, and a PhD candidate in Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago. There he coordinated “Expanded Art History for Plants,” a series of pedagogical and performance experiments in the UIC Greenhouse. He runs (with Curtis Miller) Flatland, an experimental project space in Chicago’s McKinley Park neighborhood.
