Latin American Art: How to collect, curate, and promote responsibly
Ice Palace Studios
1400 North Miami Avenue
In today's global art world, Latin American art is having a moment and a number of artists with Latin American and Hispanic roots are under a spotlight. Curators, gallerists and collectors play an important role and are key to defining the future of many young and established artists.

Venezuelan gallerist (adhesivo contemporary) and collector Edith Vaisberg, will lead a conversation along with PAMM's (Perez Art Museum) Curator Maritza Lacayo and Colombian collector, Leon Amitai. The dialogue will be centered on the different roles that each one of them play in the community, to ensure that the work of Latin American artists is getting the recognition it deserves as well as support from both institutional and private entities. Speakers will provide the audience with resources, tips and a historical framework, while encouraging the audience to learn more about Latin American culture through its art.

Part of the dialogue will be centered on the importance of showcasing artists from Latin American heritage, in a broader international context, as a way to share their unique stories. In parallel to the panel, adhesivo contemporary will be presenting a solo booth with paintings by Dominican Artist Devin Osorio, for the first time at the fair. The presentation will be centered around the artist's immigration history; by using shared and self-reflective symbolism, Osorio honors Dominican culture through shrine-like paintings that incorporate plants, animals and glyphs to create a visual vernacular from and for the Dominican American community.

Presented with adhesivo contemporary, Mexico City.
