The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is pleased to host Ivester Contemporary, Austin for Sunspots, an exhibition of new paintings by Bradley Kerl at NADA’s year-round project space, located on the 2nd floor of Chinatown’s East Broadway Mall.
The exhibition is located at 75 East Broadway #221 and can be viewed daily, 9am–7pm through a glass storefront, June 18 – July 23, 2022, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 18, 5–7pm. Appointments can be made on weekdays with advance notice by emailing [email protected].

Sunspots features six new paintings by Houston-based artist Bradley Kerl, and is the artist's first exhibition in New York City.
Ranging from an oversized oil painting to a series of more intimately scaled works on paper, the works in Sunspots are full of yearning and desire—to be out in the world, to be among loved ones, to be enveloped by natural beauty and to create. The source imagery for these paintings was co-opted, appropriated, cherry-picked, chopped and screwed (some more overtly than others) and speak to living vicariously through a screen.

Bradley Kerl (b. 1986, Beaumont, TX) is a painter and arts educator based in Houston, Texas. He holds Drawing & Painting degrees from both the University of North Texas (BFA) and the University of Houston (MFA). Bradley has been the focus of solo exhibitions at Art League Houston; Ivester Contemporary, Austin, TX; Gold Diggers, Los Angeles, CA; and Galveston Arts Center, Galveston, TX; among others. He has been included in many national and international group exhibitions at Galerie SLIKA, BEERS London, Mini Galerie, China Heights Gallery, Galleri Golsa, Octavia Art Gallery, and Kirk Hopper Fine Art. Artist residencies include Domaine de Boisbuchet is Lessac, France; Villa Lena in Tuscany, Italy; and Corsicana Artist and Writer Residency in Corsicana, TX. His work has also appeared in Artnet, Financial Times, Texas Highways Magazine, Süddeutsch Zeitung Magazine, Support Magazine #2, Texas Monthly, New American Paintings No. 138, Friend of The Artist: Volume 7, and Glasstire, among others.
