Opening Weekend Performance by Ayana Evans
Presented with EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, New York

Saturday May 4
1pm & 3pm

Ayana Evans “My Colonial Get-away: Fu** It, I Ain’t Budgin’” is a feminist takeover of space and a demand for participants to do things together in honor of Black women, while questioning ideas of social boundaries and utilizing fantasy as a way to uplift one’s daily circumstances.

Along with this performance, Evans is presenting an immersive installation at NADA House, comprised of video projections, customized textiles, and lithographs printed at EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop that reference the signature outfit of her series Operation Catsuit.

NADA House is NADA’s second off-site exhibition on Governors Island, featuring over 45 artists from NADA Member galleries and non-profits across 34 rooms in three historic, turn-of-the-century Colonial Revival houses. The collaborative, public exhibition will be on view every weekend, Friday through Sunday, 11am–5pm from May 2, 2019 to August 4, 2019.
