Espejismo is a work in which reality and fantasy overlap. On one hand, the acrylic layer presents a humble landscape that reflects the everyday reality of Argentina’s working-class communities.

Above it—and in an attempt to cover the first image—a dreamlike scene of European tea tables emerges. This fantasy is painted in oil, further emphasizing the tension between these two contrasting worlds.
