Oil on linen with the artist's original frame
19 × 16 × 1 inches

Kenichiro Fukumoto was born in 1986 in Hiroshima, Japan, and received MFA from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2014. He currently lives and works in Tokyo. His major exhibitions include “project N Kenichiro Fukumoto” (Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, Tokyo, 2025), “Fragments of the earth," curated by AKIINOUE (NANZUKA 2G, Tokyo, 2023), “Vessels and Fragments of the Earth” (SFT gallery, The National Art Center, Tokyo, 2020), "3331 Art Fair" (Blum & Poe, Tokyo, 2019), "Scenery Poem, Kenichiro Fukumoto & Stephen Wong" (Project Fullfill Art Space, Taipei, 2017).
Inspired by natural phenomena like water ripples, geological layers, cell division and fusion, and airborne spores, as well as time-worn artifacts like fossils and ancient vessels, this work seeks to explore the cycles of life, energy, and light. Recently, the artist has expanded from oil and drawing to include sculptures that blend wood carving and ceramics, adding new dimensions to their exploration of these enduring themes.
