Krystle Lemonias, Don't worry bout a ting, 2024
Baby clothes, diapers, mesh bags, fruit packaging and relief print on upholstery fabric
32.5 × 20.5 inches

Lemonias’ most recent body of work focuses on the eleven years she spent in her own gig and temporary jobs: babysitting, rideshare driving, packing airline food, and performing other short-term roles that sustained her household, while she saved for college and navigated the long process of adjusting her immigration status. These experiences were not only economic necessities; they shaped her understanding of labor as a site of vulnerability, resilience, and profound relational exchange. The tapestries in this series primarily depict scenes of babysitting, two of the ten families she worked with, where the routine actions of feeding, lifting, holding, making art, and outdoor adventures became both labor and emotional imprint.
