For NADA Miami, Franz Kaka is pleased to present new works by Toronto-based Azadeh Elmizadeh (b. 1987 Tehran, Iran) and Oshawa-based Tony Romano (b. 1978 Toronto, Canada). Elmizadeh’s new body of work extends the artists’s investigation into the ways in which contingency, uncertainty, and translation can be used as strategies to undermine prescribed cultural boundaries.
Alongside, Franz Kaka presents a selection of wood carvings by Romano done on the underside of found chairs, based upon the medieval practice of carving the underside of the misericord.
