NADA Members are invited to join Robert Davis, Rashid Johnson, and NADA Executive Director Heather Hubbs, for a gallery tour and discussion about Davis’s solo exhibition, 1976, curated by Rashid Johnson, at CUE Art Foundation.

Part of Davis’s ongoing project to examine the early influences that formed his adult understanding and aesthetics, 1976 is a collection of portraits of people and artifacts that shaped the world of his childhood in 1970s Norfolk, Virginia. Comprised of a series of graphite-on-paper drawings and hand-carved wood sculptures, the exhibition forms a collective self-portrait that deals in the difficulty of mapping the effects of memory in shaping the self.
