839 presents new and recent works by NY-based Natalie Lerner (b. 1992, Sarasota) and LA-based Joshua Smith (b. 1983, Houston). Smith’s shaped monochrome paintings are paired with Lerner's circular drawings. Founded in 2024 out of a 1924 Hollywood bungalow, 839 has presented nine exhibitions to date. The calendar, currently organized into 2027, features artists working across various media based between Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Europe, and Latin America. 839 participated in NADA New York 2025, where it was recognized by ARTnews as having presented one of the fair’s strongest booths.
