Ben Werther’s most recent paintings feature high school yearbook photos from his hometown of Nashville, TN, collaged alongside found imagery of model train scenery curated to match the geography of the yearbook. In doing so, Werther creates a kind of flattening effect wherein the miniaturized scenes function both as a fracture in and a continuation of the narrative of the high school yearbooks.
