This presentation features New York-based artist Faith Icecold, who also goes by faith****. With a camp sensibility and sensitive material language, their work moves between digital and handmade. In image-transfer paintings dusted with dried flowers or beaded surfaces, their practice is rebelliously ornamental and lo-fi.“New relic” is a phrase Icecold coined as they draw from ancestral memory, ancient instruments, and dollar-store or internet detritus rooted in art-historical reference. This archive reflects a world moving at warp speed—the past ever-present, the present already made past.
