Rodney Taylor (1966 - 2019) created somber, yet hopeful, paintings that channeled the frantic energy of our environment and highlight the vulnerabilities of a changing world. This presentation focuses on Taylor's 'Untitled House Series', which examines the instability of housing in Buffalo, NY. Monumental to intimately scaled, these paintings and works on paper depict ghost-like structures absorbed by atmospheric fields of color. Taylor approached the notion of home as a fraught, fractured space that is not guaranteed, especially in his own community.
