Bill Arning Exhibitions presents a two-artist booth featuring Jean-Paul Mallozzi and Alexandria Deters, under the title Secrets—Censored/Hidden/Revealed.
Visual art tends toward revelation rather than concealment. Its fundamental impulse is to “show,” even when the subject is framed as secret. This paradox makes the theme of secrecy all the more alluring. These two artists—both long associated with the gallery—interrogate what is hidden, by whom and why, and how a secret, even once revealed, still retains its aura of secrecy.
