Katherinne Fiedler, Cuerpo después III, 2023
metal, leather, rubber, chains, neoprene fabric
40 × 19 × 6 inches
This sculpture is built from fragments of leather, latex, and other materials symbolically linked to the body. Reorganized and assembled with metal structures, these elements form a shape that recalls the human body, but also other possible organisms— hybrid, ambiguous, unclassifiable. The piece proposes a transformed, post-body—where the mix of textures—soft, hard, organic, industrial—gives rise to a new kind of corporeal identity. A physical presence that does not aim to represent, but to suggest: what comes after the body as we know it.
