Dietmar Busse (b. 1966) has over the past thirty years played fearlessly with the medium of analog darkroom photography. Originally a portrait and fashion photographer, Busse has developed into an alchemist of the photographic process. His approach is simple but iconoclastic - using the chemicals and strategies of the darkroom without enlarging a photographic negative to create psychologically charged compositions reflecting his own interpretation of the natural world and his own personal history.
